About The Position

Under direct supervision, the CI Coordinator will help facilitate and coordinate plant continuous improvement efforts utilizing LEAN manufacturing concepts and tools. The CI Coordinator will analyze, track, and communicate key performance indicators using corporate management systems. The position will facilitate root cause analysis workshops aimed at identifying and eliminating waste, reducing downtime, and improving business processes. The CI Coordinator will support operational efforts to raise productivity and efficiency throughout the plant. The Continuous Improvement Coordinator provides process improvement support with a goal of delivering value to JELD-WEN Door Systems. This position will assist, coordinate, plan, and coordinate continuous improvement activities. The CI Coordinator will work with Production and Group Managers to reduce organizational barriers and improve the flow of operations, improve business results and operational objectives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of continuous improvement experience at a JELD-WEN plant or comparable facility in manufacturing
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Multi-tasking abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other appropriate JELD-WEN software computer programs and applications
  • Ability and motivation to learn
  • Able to lift up to approximately 20+/- lbs.
  • Very energetic and enthusiastic with a positive attitude with employees, management and customers
  • Able to receive frequent supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office and/or manufacturing environment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, and be dependable

  • Must recognize unsafe conditions and take appropriate action on same to ensure the safety of themselves and others in the building and facility
  • Able to work overtime as needed

Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Provide support with reporting and publishing KPI’s.
  • Take ownership of assigned change initiatives throughout project delivery.
  • Work with other team members and value streams to devise new support materials, revised processes, and practices, to include training, reporting, and systems enhancements.
  • Set up standard work on best practices and training resources when necessary.
  • Train and mentor other associates on lean concepts throughout the organization.
  • Assist with departmental improvements related to continuous improvement.
  • Attend and participate in Quarterly JCI Training and Project Meetings during Inventory or as scheduled by the JCI Manager.
