About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER ITD division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement (CI) Technician at our Camarillo, CA facility! Core shift hours align to 1st shift, from 6am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday. The CI Technician is responsible for day-to-day floor support for continuous improvement and productivity improvements. In this role you will make process improvements through attending Tier Meetings collecting and analyzing data to improve safety, productivity, 5S+, and cost. You will work closely with manufacturing and engineering functions to ensure we’re providing adequate Lean/CI training to all employees.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • 1 year of experience in a continuous improvement role
  • Experience practicing Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Minimum 1 years of manufacturing experience
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158
  • Must reside within a 50 mile radius of Camarillo, CA. Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with front-line teams
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in participating and/or leading continuous improvement events
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist with 5S+ programs across all operational areas
  • Conduct regular audits and track results
  • Drive corrective actions and accountability
  • Train teams on 5S+ standards and expectations
  • Assist with develop, standardize, and maintain visual management systems
  • Production boards, KPI boards, tier boards
  • Visual controls for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
  • Workplace organization and labeling
  • Facilitate continuous improvement activities
  • Kaizen events (RIE)
  • Training
  • Problem-solving using structured methods (A3, 5 Whys, etc.)
  • Perform Gemba walks to identify opportunities and sustain standards
  • Partner with supervisors and operators to reinforce CI culture
  • Track and report progress on CI initiatives and metrics
