About The Position

This is an Hourly Associate position focused on continuous improvement (CI) within a manufacturing environment. The role involves leading and participating in CI events, implementing process improvements, identifying cost reductions, and supporting safety, environmental, and quality systems. The associate will also be responsible for training employees on CI concepts and tools, and ensuring the sustainment of implemented improvements.

  • 2 + years of experience in a manufacturing environment focusing on continuous improvement (CI) initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement (CI) events throughout the facility to help improve processes.
  • Implement process improvement activities throughout the facility.
  • Identify potential CI events.
  • Verify the effectiveness of process improvements.
  • Participate in lean intern program.
  • Support safety & environmental efforts.
  • Ensure continuous communication occurs between employees, management, support staff, other KI divisions and customers as necessary.
  • Identify and implement potential cost reductions.
  • Support and role model Vision and Guiding Principles.
  • Support the Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Follow all safety guidelines and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary.
  • Follow and support the Quality Systems.
  • Lead improvement initiatives (Kaizen events) from conception through implementation.
  • Oversee the success of Kaizen events, including coordinating strategic and detailed plans, planning events with a dynamic funnel process tied to Policy Deployment/Model Value Stream and Daily Management.
  • Develop and implement improvement strategies and initiatives.
  • Execute events and sustain Kaizen event results.
  • Lead/facilitate the implementation/sustainment of lean tools (Visual Management, 6S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Plan-Do-Check-Act, Lean processes, etc.).
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on continuous improvement concepts, tools, and techniques.
