About The Position

TE Wire & Cable LLC is seeking a Continuous Improvement Associate / Lean Champion to join their team. The Continuous Improvement Associate / Lean Champion will coordinate and administer continuous improvement efforts, record and evaluate project results, and track improvement performance and cost reductions against targets. This role may work closely with production management and the process control team. The position supports a commitment to a safe workplace and champions communication through meetings and trainings.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is required.
  • Strong "hands on" mechanical skills, problem solving, and critical thinking are essential.
  • Must be a self-starting and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word (further training is available).
  • Ability to create, read and interpret documents such as operating, safety, and maintenance work instructions.
  • Experience in change management processes.
  • Strong facilitation, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Results oriented and prepared to deal with ambiguity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training is a plus.
  • Some experience with cross-functional Kaizen events is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and finds Continuous Improvement opportunities to facilitate quarterly Kaizen events.
  • Manages training, and implementation and tracking of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and tracks Lean events and progress metrics.
  • Assists with the implementation of improvements together with production staff to meet customer demand.
  • Conducts weekly crossover meetings managing team topics, best practices, and acts as an ambassador of change with new processes.
  • Supports those on various shifts via team leads to ensure all receive weekly messages consistently.
  • Drives the continuous improvement initiative.
  • Involved with the implementation and monitoring of the benchmarks related to lean manufacturing.
  • Trains and educates employees in all aspects of lean manufacturing, including LEAN onboarding training with new hires.
  • May assist Managers to ensure that implemented lean processes are being followed.
  • Knowledge of Inventory Management and ad-hoc assignments.
  • Works with the Safety Committee and supports KPA (safety training) administration with reporting and data analytics.
