About The Position

Under the direction of the College of Engineering's Assistant Director of Professional and Distance Education Programs (PDEP), this role oversees the planning, implementation, and coordination of non-credit and certificate programs. It involves determining educational needs and opportunities, creating partnerships, supervising student workers, and managing day-to-day program operations. The position also includes general administrative duties such as responding to inquiries, providing student and faculty support, creating and sending certificates, maintaining databases, tracking registrations, assisting with website maintenance, managing in-person program delivery, assisting with marketing, processing purchases and expenses, managing budgets, and managing Carmen courses. The role ensures the effective and efficient management of the Professional Programs office and provides general support to the Director and Assistant Director, including scheduling and initiating Workday requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's level degree in business, communications, public relations, marketing or similar field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with management, faculty, and outside partners.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in using the Web for research and data collection.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the planning, implementation, and coordination of non-credit and certificate programs.
  • Utilizes appropriate methods to determine educational needs and opportunities for non-credit courses/programs.
  • Creates and maintains partnerships related to programming.
  • Supervises student workers.
  • Manages day-to-day program operations under the supervision of the PDEP Assistant Director.
  • Responds to program inquiries and drafts correspondence to prospects.
  • Provides student and faculty/instructor support.
  • Creates and sends student certificates.
  • Maintains student databases and leads.
  • Tracks and records program registrations.
  • Assists with maintaining program websites and event registration systems.
  • Manages delivery of in-person programs, including ordering food and supplies.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of marketing materials and plans.
  • Processes program purchases, expenses, and payments.
  • Manages program budgets.
  • Manages Carmen courses.
  • Schedules and attends meetings and events as assigned.
  • Assures that daily activities of the Professional Programs office are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Provides general support to the Director and Assistant Director, including scheduling, researching, and preparing correspondence.
  • Initiates Workday requests for goods and services.
