About The Position

MCC's Continuing Education Division is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Foreign Language Instructor to teach beginning-level students in a supportive and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in the target language, a passion for language education, and the ability to help students build foundational skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The instructor will deliver introductory language lessons, use interactive teaching methods to encourage student participation, assess student progress, and provide constructive feedback. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, maintaining classroom records, and fostering an inclusive environment that promotes language learning and cultural understanding. The ideal candidate will possess strong subject-matter expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for adult education. Instructors will create an interactive learning environment that encourages participation, engagement, and the successful achievement of learning outcomes.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the target language (oral and written).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Knowledge of basic language teaching methods and instructional strategies for beginning-level learners.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use common instructional technology and learning management systems.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and meet applicable employment eligibility requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or instructional experience with beginning-level language learners.
