About The Position

HII Mission Technologies is hiring a Content Specialist to support our Communications Team. As the Content Specialist, you’ll shape how the defense industry, government partners, and academic communities understand Mission Technologies’ role in delivering the advanced capabilities that protect U.S. warfighters and strengthen national security — from artificial intelligence and cyber operations to unmanned systems, electronic warfare, and next‑generation training technologies. In this role, you’ll create dynamic, multi-channel marketing and communications content that fuels integrated campaigns, brand storytelling, digital engagement, and enterprise communication priorities. Your work will support marketing strategy, product visibility, reputation building and employee connection across the division. You’ll develop content end-to-end across web, social, digital campaigns, internal communications, media and PR materials, product narratives, event content that elevates HII’s position as the leading technology leader in defense. Requirements

  • 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, digital media, public relations, or related field.
  • Demonstrated writing, editing, or content creation experience (academic, internship, or early-career).
  • Understanding of digital content best practices and multi-platform storytelling.
  • Ability to learn technical topics and translate them into accessible content.
  • Interest in integrated marketing, brand storytelling, and digital engagement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with basic analytics tools or content management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of content for external marketing campaigns and internal communications programs that strengthen our brand in the market and across the organization.
  • Build integrated marketing and communications content for web, social media, video, digital campaigns, internal channels, and media relations.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, engaging narratives aligned with marketing strategy, business goals, and brand voice.
  • Support content development for marketing campaigns, product storytelling, thought leadership, and digital experiences.
  • Coordinate with PR, media, brand, digital, and design partners to ensure content is strategically timely, cohesive, accurate, and impactful.
  • Strengthen the public release, compliance, and review process for content and communications materials.
  • Conduct content audits to identify gaps, opportunities, and recommendations that strengthen integrated marketing and communications efforts.
  • Track performance, gather insights, and recommend content optimizations across channels.
  • Help maintain and improve workflows that connect communications and internal stakeholders.
  • Support teamwide training and knowledge‑sharing.
  • Proactively plan content with annual calendars and lead times.
