About The Position

The Lede Company is a full-service strategy, communications, and social impact consulting firm specializing in the corporate, entertainment, and nonprofit sectors. We are seeking a Content Publicity Assistant to join our New York team, supporting the Content PR division on campaigns for films, television series, and podcasts. Working closely with the Head of Content PR, the Content Publicity Assistant will provide administrative and project support across all aspects of client service and campaign execution. This role requires exceptional organization, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive candidate who thrives in a collaborative environment and has a strong interest in entertainment publicity. This is a non-exempt hourly position. Due to the nature of publicity work and the real-time news cycle, occasional overtime, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, may be required and will be compensated in accordance with applicable law.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1+ years of relevant internship or professional experience in public relations, entertainment, communications, media, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong proficiency with Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a professional, polished, and confident demeanor.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to anticipate the needs of team members and clients.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, responsive, collaborative, and able to prioritize competing deadlines with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Comfortable speaking up in meetings and representing the team professionally with clients, media, and external stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a PR agency, film distributor, television network, studio, production company, or other entertainment organization is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Constant Contact or similar email distribution/database platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support, including calendar management, scheduling, travel coordination, expense reporting, and managing high-volume communications across email, Slack, phone, and text.
  • Track media coverage and regularly distribute media breaks and coverage reports to clients.
  • Assist with drafting, editing, and proofreading internal and external communications, including press materials.
  • Create and distribute press releases and other publicity materials using email distribution platforms such as Constant Contact.
  • Support media outreach and maintain strong organization of press materials and media lists.
  • Coordinate logistics for press events, screenings, premieres, photo shoots, festivals, interviews, and press days, including travel and grooming arrangements.
  • Process client requests accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Attend screenings, premieres, interviews, press days, and other client events, including occasional after-hours coverage.
  • Maintain and update press databases, media contact lists, client calendars, and other tracking documents.
  • Upload, organize, and maintain client files within Google Drive and distribute materials to internal teams as needed.
  • Prepare agendas and meeting materials for recurring client meetings.
  • Conduct research to support client strategy, campaign planning, and media opportunities.
  • Liaise with the MPAA and other industry organizations as needed.
  • Assist with onboarding and supervising interns.
  • Stay informed on the evolving media landscape, including new publications, websites, podcasts, television, film, and industry trends.
  • Handle confidential client information with professionalism and discretion.
