The Content Production Team Lead will partner with the Production Manager to drive daily operations, providing the clear direction and pace needed to achieve high-volume production goals. You will safeguard metadata integrity through rigorous audits and Library of Congress standards, ensuring Ancestry’s content supports an exceptional customer experience. By tracking performance metrics and proactively resolving workflow challenges, you will lead your team toward operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Experienced Leader: You have 1+ year of experience in content production or operational support roles. (High School Diploma or GED required).
  • Resilient & Focused: You are comfortable performing repetitive tasks while maintaining high levels of accuracy and engagement.
  • Strong Communicator: You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to raise concerns constructively.
  • Adaptable Learner: You are able to quickly master new tools, systems, and proprietary processes.
  • Technically Proficient: You are skilled in word processing and spreadsheet software for reporting and data analysis.
  • Strategic Problem Solver: You exercise sound judgment in escalating issues and proposing practical solutions.
  • Organized: You are detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative: You work effectively both independently and as a supportive leader within a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with digitization or historical archival work.
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory capacity within a production environment.
  • Familiarity with Library of Congress (LOC) standards or metadata management.
  • Passion for family history or archival preservation

Responsibilities

  • Lead Content Production & Quality: Conduct quality assurance (QA) audits on vendor-submitted units to ensure work meets established quality thresholds.
  • Maintain Metadata Integrity: Assign accurate, standardized titles from the LOC (Library of Congress) database to Newspaper projects to ensure consistency.
  • Analyze Quality Patterns: Audit team title submissions, identify inconsistencies, and proactively address trends to improve overall output.
  • Drive Productivity: Consistently meet or exceed Image Per Hour (IPH) and daily production targets while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage Scheduling & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report weekly hours with detailed time allocation; prepare projected hours to support forecasting and resource planning.
  • Operational Oversight: Compile monthly schedules to ensure alignment and coverage for operational priorities and deadlines.
  • Facilitate Team Alignment: Lead weekly stand-ups to review audit findings and reinforce quality standards; participate in quarterly engagement activities to strengthen team cohesion.
  • Partner with Vendors: Identify trends in work unit issues and share clear documentation and examples to improve quality across internal teams and external vendor partners.
  • Drive Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve workflows and share best practices that increase team efficiency.
  • Support Operational Excellence: Engage in cross-functional projects to expand skills and drive continuous improvement across the department.
