About The Position

NBC Connecticut is seeking a Content Producer to work with journalists to create engaging content for broadcast and digital platforms. The role involves developing and producing memorable newscasts, showcasing major headlines through innovative storytelling, and producing, writing, and editing assigned segments. The Content Producer contributes story ideas aligned with the NBC Connecticut News Strategy, takes an active part in the editorial process, and may fill in as a producer on other NBC Connecticut newscasts. The position is based at the station in West Hartford, Connecticut, and must be performed full-time onsite at an NBCUniversal-designated worksite. The schedule must be flexible and may include any shift in a 24/7 operation, weekends, and holidays, sometimes with short notice.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least one year of related work experience or equivalent experience.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic editing skills using non-linear programs.
• Strategic thinking, research, and organizational skills.
• Excellent time-management skills and the ability to prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work at the station in West Hartford, CT.
• Flexible schedule and ability to work any shift in a 24/7 operation, including weekends and holidays with short notice.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
