Content Marketing

Applied Compute•San Francisco, CA
•$115,000 - $225,000•Onsite

About The Position

As our first customer and demand generation marketer, you'll uncover and tell the stories behind the work happening across Applied Compute. You'll act as an internal journalist and investigator: talking with our engineers, researchers, product teams, and customers to find the ideas, technical breakthroughs, and results worth sharing. You'll shape those insights into a thoughtful content strategy spanning research, technical blog posts, customer stories, events, and campaigns—and build the programs that put them in front of CTOs, Heads of AI, and engineering leaders.

Requirements

  • You're a deeply curious writer and storyteller who gets excited about investigating how something works, sitting with an engineer or researcher, and turning the conversation into a story an executive would forward
  • A track record of building programs, systems, or content engines from zero to one rather than inheriting an established playbook
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational rigor. You can manage a complex editorial calendar, coordinate many contributors, and reliably move work from idea to publication
  • Strong editorial judgment: you know which ideas are worth pursuing, which format will serve them best, and how to make technical work compelling without losing accuracy
  • Comfort with numbers. You can tell us what a program cost, what it produced, and whether we should run it again
  • Enough curiosity about AI and machine learning to learn how post-training and inference actually work, and to talk about them accurately

Nice To Haves

  • Experience marketing AI infrastructure, developer tools, or data platforms to enterprise buyers
  • Produced video or podcast content, or run a customer story program that people actually watched and shared
  • A network across enterprise engineering and AI leadership
  • AI tools built into how you work every day

Responsibilities

  • Act as an internal journalist: build relationships with our engineers, researchers, product teams, and customers; ask sharp questions; and uncover the stories, insights, and technical work worth sharing
  • Own a content strategy and editorial calendar spanning research, technical blog posts, customer stories, video, talks, and joint customer content
  • Work closely with our platform and product teams to understand the roadmap, identify the right moments to begin shaping positioning and storytelling, and stage the work well ahead of launches
  • Partner closely with design to turn ideas into clear, compelling content across formats and keep production moving from brief through publication
  • Run our customer advocacy program, including references, quotes, logo approvals, and co-marketing with customers who want to talk about what they built
  • Turn research and engagement results into durable proof points our sales team can use in every conversation
  • Own marketing sourced and influenced pipeline, and build the reporting that shows what is working and what isn't
  • Design and run account based programs for a named list of enterprise accounts in partnership with our account executives
  • Build email, nurture, and paid programs for a technical audience that ignores most marketing
  • Own our event strategy, from our fireside chat series with enterprise leaders and executive dinners to our presence at industry conferences and partner events
  • Make every event produce something durable, whether that is a recording, a story, or a relationship that turns into a deal
