About The Position

National Life Group, a rapidly growing insurance company founded in 1848, is seeking a Content Marketing Specialist to play a key role in their marketing and communications strategy. This position involves developing and managing high-quality content across various channels, including email, social media, blogs, recruiting materials, and event promotions. The specialist will ensure content is consistent, compliant, and aligned with business objectives. This role requires translating complex ideas into clear, compelling messages to drive engagement, support advisor growth, and enhance the brand. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and strategic thinker, comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and adept at managing multiple priorities with attention to detail. Experience in financial services or a regulated industry, along with familiarity with tools like Salesforce Marketing Cloud and social media platforms, is beneficial. The role emphasizes proactivity, adaptability, and creativity in supporting both recruiting and advisor-facing initiatives. This position is primarily onsite, requiring four days per week in the office, with core days typically Monday through Thursday, though this schedule is subject to change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in content marketing.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), and email marketing tools (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, MailChimp).
  • Experience with social media scheduling tools and basic design platforms (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or Canva).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the financial services industry supporting advisors or working within a broker-dealer, RIA, or insurance-based distribution model, with an understanding of advisor marketing, recruiting dynamics and compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience building and optimizing marketing journeys in platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar tools, including segmentation, personalization, and performance tracking.
  • Experience supporting full campaign lifecycles—from pre-event promotion through post-event follow-up and nurture campaigns—especially in a B2B or advisor-facing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and edit a wide range of marketing content across channels, including email campaigns, social media, blogs, website copy, video scripts, presentations, and print materials.
  • Manage and maintain a centralized library of marketing collateral, ensuring all materials are current, compliant, brand-aligned, and easily accessible for field use.
  • Own the content calendar and coordinate with internal stakeholders to deliver timely, accurate, and strategically aligned communications.
  • Analyze content performance and apply insights to continuously improve engagement and effectiveness.
  • Partner with the Business Development team to develop targeted recruiting campaigns and collateral.
  • Craft compelling messaging that clearly communicates ESI’s value proposition and supports advisor acquisition and growth.
  • Support internal and external communications, including employee messaging, leadership updates, and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the National Life Communications Team and/or third party firms on press releases, announcements, and earned media opportunities.
  • Collaborate on the development and execution of social media content aligned with ESI’s brand and priorities.
  • Create co-brandable, compliant content for advisors to use within approved marketing platforms.
  • Support the promotion of conferences, training programs, and events through invitations, registration campaigns, and follow-up communications.
  • Develop marketing materials that enhance visibility, engagement, and overall event experience.
