About The Position

Action for Children is seeking a Content Designer to join their digital team for a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role will primarily focus on Parent Talk, Action for Children’s digital parenting support service. It is a hands-on content design position where you will utilize evidence and user insight to design, review, and improve accessible content and user journeys. You will collaborate closely with parenting coaches, subject matter experts, and digital colleagues. The role reports to the Senior Content Designer, who oversees Parent Talk’s content strategy, governance, standards, and prioritization.

Requirements

  • Hands-on content design experience, including identifying and defining user needs from evidence and translating them into effective digital content or journeys.
  • Experience using research, analytics, search insight, user behavior, feedback, or other evidence to make and evaluate content decisions.
  • Experience working with subject matter experts and stakeholders to design content around user needs, including complex information where accuracy is critical.
  • Practical experience of accessibility and inclusive content design.
  • Must be based in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Design and improve accessible, inclusive content and user journeys for parents, carers, and young people.
  • Utilize research, analytics, search insight, user behavior, and feedback to understand user needs and inform content decisions.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to transform complex and sensitive information into clear, useful content.
  • Manage assigned content through the entire lifecycle: research, design, review, publication, and ongoing improvement.
  • Contribute content design expertise to multidisciplinary delivery efforts, working alongside product, development, and technical colleagues.
  • Advocate for evidence-led, user-centered, and accessible content throughout the organization.
