The Content Design Team, part of the User Experience (UX) Department, seeks an experienced Content Designer to create world-class product content. We aim to empower customers with a consistent, relevant, and useful content experience as they interact with our software, helping them care confidently. You will tackle content design challenges for new and existing platforms, transforming them into intuitive products. You will collaborate closely with UX Designers, Engineers, and Product Leaders throughout the design process, from content strategy and drafting to refining mock-ups, writing content, and designing content for successful product use. You will anticipate user needs, establish content design best practices, and advocate for customers to ensure intuitive and easy-to-use products. You will also explore and apply AI-driven content design approaches and contribute to conversational design solutions.

Requirements

  • Content Design background in a product-focused environment.
  • An education/training background, or a bachelor’s degree in English, UX writing, technical communications, or journalism.
  • Experience writing and structuring language to respond to audience needs, technical communications, instructional, and UX writing.
  • A foundational understanding of user-centered design techniques and how to apply them.
  • Experience with AI-assisted tools and workflows for ideation, prototyping, or content exploration.
  • Exposure to conversational design and an ability to create simple, accessible conversational flows.
  • Worked in authoring and publishing content management systems (CCMS).
  • Background working in agile development with cross-functional teams including UX Designers, Product Management, and Engineers.
  • Self-directed and effective working independently and when cooperating with cross functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Domain and industry knowledge a plus.
  • Previous PointClickCare and/or EHR equivalent software experience an asset.
  • Knowledgeable in Paligo, Pendo, Jira, Figma, Power BI, Smartsheet a plus.

Responsibilities

  • User-centered content design: Design content to meet user needs and make complex language and processes easy to understand. Implement writing style and standards.
  • Content architecture: Structure content for easy reuse and publishing to multiple platforms, personas, and markets.
  • User focus: Understand users, identify their content needs based on evidence, translate user stories, and propose content design approaches. Engage in meaningful interactions with users, prioritize user needs, and manage competing priorities.
  • Agile working: Experience working in agile environments, including awareness of agile tools and methods. Advise colleagues on agile practices. Adapt, reflect, and be resilient.
  • Relationship management and collaboration: Identify, analyze, manage, and monitor relationships with project teams. Communicate and collaborate clearly and regularly with project team members, clarifying mutual needs and commitments while focusing on user needs.
  • Prototyping: Build content design from a prototype and add content requirements to prototypes. Work in an open and collaborative environment.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking: Apply basic data analysis for data-driven content decisions. Summarize and share findings. Observe, research, and interpret subjects to develop ideas and solutions. Be comfortable with trial and error, analyze situations quickly, and focus on outcomes.
  • AI: Leverage AI as a design partner for ideation, prototyping, and content exploration. Collaborate with team members to refine AI-generated outputs into compliant, user-centered content aligned with organizational standards.
  • Conversational design: Design basic conversational flows for simple interactions, ensuring clarity, empathy, and accessibility. Focus on natural, user-friendly exchanges to improve task success and reduce friction.
