About The Position

Smartsheet is hiring a Content Designer II to collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure UX content delivers user value while meeting business goals. The role focuses on shaping how users interact with AI-driven features, making complex technology intuitive, ethical, and human-centered. The designer will influence specific feature areas and contribute to platform-wide strategies for collaborative work management. The position reports to the Director, Content & Globalization in the US and is eligible for remote work from within Costa Rica; candidates must reside in Costa Rica. Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in Content Strategy, Content Design, or UX Writing within a software development organization.
• Experience or a deep, demonstrated interest in designing for AI/ML features, including understanding prompt engineering, model personality, and human-AI interaction.
• Expertise in Figma and experience working within a robust design system.
• Ability to create content that scales globally and translates well across languages and cultures.
• A human-centered design mindset and a track record of using research to inform content decisions.
• Excellent collaboration skills and ability to explain and champion content decisions to stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Must reside in Costa Rica.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product and Engineering to design conversational interfaces, prompt-based interactions, and AI-generated outputs, ensuring responses are accurate, helpful, and consistent with Smartsheet’s brand voice.
• Understand user needs and business goals and co-create product content with design and product management teams.
• Apply and evolve content strategies, guidelines, and processes; create content audits, research-driven frameworks, and user personas.
• Design clear navigation and content hierarchies to help users manage complex data and workflows.
• Educate cross-functional partners on Content Design best practices and ethical implications of AI communication.
• Stay current on trends in UX, Human-Centered Design, and Generative AI.
• Support other duties as assigned.
