Join us as a content and Merchandising lead and you’ll be a big part of this. As a Content & Merchandising Lead you are responsible for driving AOV, get to product & add to basket for your specific category on all websites & platforms, for B&Q owned & marketplace products & services. This includes responsibility for the content and data model structure, on-site execution and consistency of products and coordinating launches and working with stakeholders to ensure these are on-time and in-full. You’ll play a key role in driving our digital growth as your role has a direct impact on our customers by supporting their purchasing decision and driving revenue.

Requirements

  • E-commerce Experience: experience in an e-commerce environment, with a strong focus on product content, CMS management, and merchandising.
  • Analytical: Experience using analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Content Square etc, with the ability to identify trends and translate them into actionable insights
  • Organisational & Project Management: A highly organised forward planner with excellent time management skills, capable of delivering with an uncompromising commitment to quality.
  • Communication: Able to build strong stakeholder relationships, tell compelling stories, and translate complex information for diverse audiences.
  • Self-Starter & Adaptability: A passionate self-starter who is decisive, able to move with speed, and continuously seeks feedback for personal and team improvement.
  • Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of PIM systems, asset management and CMS

Responsibilities

  • Own the findability and performance of a key product category across websites and devices, driving sales through competitor benchmarking and continuous optimisation.
  • Deliver clear, accurate, customer‑first selling content that reflects the brand and maximises SEO impact.
  • Use digital insight tools to analyse category performance and improve customer journeys, driving conversion, AOV, get‑to‑product rate, facet usage and bounce reduction.
  • Create and govern copy rules for compelling, informative product titles and specifications.
  • Manage and optimise all digital selling content for your categories, prioritising activity to maximise revenue.
  • Act as the go‑to content expert for your category, leading on technical and product content queries.
  • Implement strategic onsite optimisation using CMS and eCommerce tools, improving search journeys, navigation, hierarchy and visual merchandising.
  • Deliver structured enrichment plans to enhance product data, imagery, video and vendor‑supplied content.
  • Own the quality and timeliness of product launches, including final QA sign‑off to ensure assets meet requirements.
  • Identify and resolve product content discrepancies to maintain accuracy and trust.
  • Report on key performance metrics, sharing insights and outcomes with the wider business.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to test, learn and scale onsite improvements as customer understanding evolves.
