About The Position

The full-time Contemporary Programming Line Producer provides fundamental line producing support for the Programming team’s year-round initiatives and projects, ensuring that advancing and performances logistics are executed efficiently and successfully. This position has a primary focus on Contemporary Programming; the Contemporary Programming Line Producer will support the Director, Contemporary Programming and the Programming team in managing, developing, and executing a robust season, including annual series and festivals such as American Songbook, Lincoln Center Visionary Artist, and Under the Radar; multi-performance theatrical runs; and other new initiatives. Outside of Contemporary Programming, the Contemporary Programming Line Producer will also support a wide range of performances and programs year-round, including the Summer for the City Festival. The Contemporary Programming Line Producer serves as the main contact between the artists and Lincoln Center and will take the lead in advancing and running performances. Reports to Director, Contemporary Programming.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of Line Producing experience in performing arts, touring, or production, with a keen interest in working with artists.
  • A passion for the performing arts and programming that is complex and large-scale.
  • Ability to, and willingness to work evenings and weekends, and a robust schedule indoors and outdoors during the summer months.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven department/organization.
  • Deep knowledge and capacity to analyze and manage production budgets and riders.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort navigating relationships and priorities with various stakeholder groups with diplomacy.
  • Solid computer and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to self-direct.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with touring companies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Director, Contemporary Programming, and Programming senior leaders to advance and plan projects and events scheduled throughout the year.
  • Support other full-time and guest curators on additional LCPA projects and performances as assigned.
  • Be the main artist contact throughout the entire producing process, including but not limited to contracts, budgets, marketing materials, and collecting tech and hospitality riders.
  • Be the primary onsite manager and point person on performance days, creating a positive experience for artists and serve as onsite representative to ensure all concerns are addressed swiftly.
  • Work closely with Event Production Managers to run and advance events, securing all production elements such as backline and equipment rental, and managing day-of schedules.
  • In close collaboration with project managers and curators, assist with budget management, making decisions that have a direct impact on the production related to rentals, housing, hospitality, and transportation.
  • Manages and maintains internal communications with Lincoln Center’s Departments, including General Management, Production, Operations, Legal, People Team, and Marketing and Communications, as well as LCPA Resident Arts Organization colleagues as applicable.
  • Support the Director of Contemporary Programming in keeping track of overall timelines and schedules, ensuring overall line producing practices are in sync and up to standard.
  • Work with the Contemporary Programming Curator and additional curators to keep track of the issuing and execution of contracts and payments for all engagements.
  • Manages, maintains, and updates Monday.com, ArtsVision, and SharePoint as needed.
  • Represents Lincoln Center onsite at all times.
