About The Position

The Huntington Beach Chemical Technology team is looking for an Experienced Contamination Control Engineer, with experience working in cleanrooms performing the contamination control function for spacecraft, and underwater vehicles. This position is located in Huntington Beach, CA. This role includes experience extracting and quantifying non-volatile residues and collecting and counting particulate samples using optical and digital methods. Knowledge of laboratory support systems for a contamination lab and aerospace materials is required, as well as the ability to modify test set-ups utilizing the candidates knowledge of chemistry, physics, mechanical testing and basic electronics. The successful candidate shall be comfortable with a hands-on assignment working in a level 10,000 cleanroom, with a diverse team of support staff. They should be able to develop laboratory test plans which factor in safety as well as available laboratory resources to support a wide variety of Boeing programs. Lab safety experience is required as well as experience working with hazardous and non-hazardous cleaning solvents. The lab is looking for this candidate to have experience repairing a variety of equipment and be comfortable using and maintaining older laboratory instruments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 1+ years’ working in at least a 100,000 Class Clean Room environment
  • 1+ years’ experience handling any of the following: Sealants, Solvents such as MPK (Methyl propyl ketone), Acetone, IPA (isopropyl alcohol), caulk
  • 1+ years’ experience with safety process and/or procedures in a manufacturing or operations environment
  • Must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the responsibilities of a contamination control engineer
  • Clean and verify high cost, fragile aerospace hardware per program requirements
  • Safely maintain and repair fluid transfer equipment
