About The Position

The Container Shop Welder repairs, paints, and maintains containers and roll-off boxes. The role includes welding and fabricating components, installing container parts and decals, following safety procedures, completing paperwork, and referring more complex repairs to the Supervisor. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Certified welder.
• Minimum of 1 year of welding experience or completion of a welding program.
• Advanced knowledge of MIG and stick welders, plasma cutters, and airless paint sprayers.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions with minimal supervisory involvement.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain front, rear, and roll-off containers.
• Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and ARC welding equipment.
• Fabricate steel components using a brake and shear.
• Cut steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
• Fabricate steel components for hoppers, containers, and compactors.
• Install lids and wheels on containers.
• Paint repaired containers.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Install company and safety decals on containers and roll-off boxes according to the company standard diagram.
• Refer more complex repairs to the Supervisor.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
