About The Position
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Container Architect for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12 month contract opportunity. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing containerization strategies for enterprise applications. The architect will work with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient environments, collaborating closely with development, operations, and security teams to modernize application deployment and orchestration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 7 years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 3 years in container technologies
- Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration platforms
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins and GitLab)
- Experience with cloud platforms and hybrid deployments
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
- Understanding of container security and compliance frameworks
- Experience with data modelling and architecture
- Experience with Agile tools (Jira)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with OpenShift
- Knowledge of API gateways
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Splunk)
Responsibilities

- Ensure scalable, secure, and efficient container-based environments using platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to enable modern application deployment and orchestration
