The Consumer Underwriter role is more than just a job; it's a way to live and support members through various life events. The worth of this work is measured by its impact on the community and the people it serves. This position involves being a lead underwriter for DROs, handling questions about indirect applications, and having the authority to review and decide on member loan appeals. The role requires underwriting direct and indirect consumer loans across all delivery channels, including home equity loans, approving home appraisals and boat surveys, and reviewing home equity title work policies and Mortgage Investment Offerings. The underwriter will make decisions to approve, counter-approve, or deny loan requests for both internal and external members, regularly communicate with internal members regarding consumer loans, and make moderately complex loan decisions based on borrower worthiness to meet membership needs and company lending objectives. A key aspect of the role is consistently delivering high-quality, knowledgeable, and responsive service, while also identifying cross-sell opportunities to improve members' financial well-being.
