About The Position

The Consumer Service Insurance Specialist will primarily be tasked with answering questions from consumers and reviewing insurance complaints. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are detail oriented and have a comprehensive knowledge of health or life insurance. Most of the consumer complaint review work is done independently with ample opportunities for collaboration with a larger team to discuss issues or policy questions as they arise. Organizational skills as well as the ability to clearly communicate compliance issues with companies are integral to the position.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of experience in the health or life insurance industry
  • Knowledge of insurance laws and regulations
  • Able to communicate effectively in written and verbal form
  • Ability to read, understand, apply, and explain federal and state laws.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in advocating for consumers
  • Experience in insurance contract, products, claims administration, consumer services, and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of health or life insurance laws.
  • Strong, well-rounded computer and writing skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to speak Spanish, with health or life insurance experience.

  • Advocate for health & life insurance consumers to ensure insurance benefits are compliant and provide required consumer protections.
  • Review and analyze health or life insurance complaints to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Effectively communicate with insurers regarding complaint findings.
