At this entry level position, the employee is learning duties and responsibilities with close supervision, and may perform the day-to-day office operations; not limited to, but including: Receives payments coming into office and night depository and posts payments to accounts receivable. Balances and summarizes daily collections. Reconciles and balances mail daily. Receives requests in person and by phone for resolution of problems with billing, address changes, readings, and related areas and makes job orders as necessitated. Greets people who come into office and handles their requests or forwards to appropriate person. Checks computer printouts of transactions keyed the previous day. Maintains records of meters that are tested or retired. Operates and maintains office and billing related machines and hardware. Mains files, keeps records, logs of activities, and performs other relatively routine clerical tasks. Performs other duties as assigned or as required by the position.
