About The Position

UHCU's Consumer lending team is seeking a driven, organized, and collaborative Consumer Loan Sales Specialist! As a Consumer Loan Sales Specialist, you will independently plan, organize, and drive the Credit Union's consumer loan volume and ancillary product sales. This position works with a team of sales professionals to establish and fulfill daily sales goals and related tasks. The development and production of new, repeat and referral business is required. This position has a focus on auto lending and is not responsible for generation of real estate loans. Above all, the position is about building long-term relationships with consumers by providing superior service levels. It is also highly goal oriented and incentivized position with uncapped commission. Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in a sales driven environment required.
  • 2+ years' experience in a dealership, lending department, or related financial industry environment required.
  • 1-3 years of experience up-selling and cross selling related products and services such as credit protection, GAP, and VSC.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle strict deadlines and goal obtainment.
  • Desire and motivation to work off of commission-based pay structure.
  • Must be available to work a full-time schedule Monday through Friday flexible between the hours of 8:00am - 7:00pm along with a Saturday rotation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Associates degree in a related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with TxDot, NADA, Symitar, Synapsys, Sync 1, DocuSign, SalesForce, and LOS software or similar credit and auto related programs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with peers to focus on maximizing UHCU's volume of consumer loan originations and closings.
  • Work collaboratively with a supportive team of Service and Production specialists to ensure a positive member experience and an efficient lending process.
  • Fulfill daily, monthly, and quarterly sales goals while maintaining organization with multiple priorities at once.
  • Promote and maintain positive internal and external relationships at all times.
  • Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of monthly goals, to include daily tracking and the action necessary to meet those goals.
  • Maximize loan origination volume by working all loan lists, queues and channels.
  • Work incoming leads.
  • Make outbound solicitations.
  • Upsell and cross-sell products and services, including, but not limited to, credit protection, GAP and VSC.
  • Convert a high percentage of loan applications into closed loans.
  • Increase membership with new account openings.
  • Maintain communication with the applicant from time of initial contact through loan closing.
  • Communicate with underwriting and other lending or branch personnel to ensure satisfaction of required documentation and requested stipulations to ensure efficient loan closing.
  • Make contact with dealerships, other lenders, internal staff and/or members as needed to resolve pending issues in a timely manner.
  • Gather setup information to include but not limited to monthly payment, term, due date, mileage of vehicle, payoff information, and VIN.
  • Make decisions regarding minor exceptions per procedures.
