About The Position

The Consumer Loan Originator is responsible for assisting the credit union in achieving its mission statement by making outbound phone calls to members regarding various items, from general services to presenting specific targeted sales opportunities. This role also involves accurate processing of applications for new accounts, loans, and other products and services received through all member channels. The position requires supporting, modeling, and adhering to PFCU’s Service Standards.

Requirements

High School Graduate or equivalent
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, clients, members, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Capability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized and non-standardized situations.
Ability to creatively structure good performing loans within PFCU policies and procedures.
Excellent understanding of lending policies and procedures.
Able to make decisions and recommendations.
Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Frequently required to walk and stand.
Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Experience Specialist, Consumer Lending Processor, Indirect Lending Processor or Development Support Specialist at PFCU is preferred.
Equivalent sales experience in a similar role(s) outside of PFCU will also be considered.

Responsibilities

Make contact with members to support sales or promotional campaigns, deepen relationships, or cross-sell additional PFCU products or services, including initiating outbound contact on new indirect loan memberships or on-boarding for new memberships from the online account opening process.
Promote and provide loan products through outbound calls.
Analyze member’s credit data, financial situation, and financial goals.
Follow-up and maintain pending loan queue.
Maintain loan information and follow-up documentation.
Proactively identify any financial need and educate members on each possible solution.
Assist members with in-depth questions about their accounts.
Accurately process incoming applications for new accounts, loans, and other products and services.
Responsible for the timely processing of loan applications and serve as the member liaison between loan origination and loan closing.
Engage in continuous learning to maintain an adequate level of knowledge in all areas of responsibility.
Demonstrate sensitivity, support, respect, flexibility, dependability, and timeliness to take personal responsibility and accountability for actions and performance.
Build a deeper relationship with the member by cross-selling other credit union products and services.
Meet or exceed established minimum performance expectations.
Provide regular reports (as requested) regarding efforts and results.
Maintain on-going communication with supervisor, informing them of all pertinent problems, irregularities, new developments, changes, and other important information within the area of responsibility.
Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values, and long-term objectives.
Seek training opportunities to develop or enhance skills through training, conferences, reading, etc.
Willingly participate in and attend educational functions and meetings as requested by management.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Follow regulatory and policy compliance requirements, including those in compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), Red Flag and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, and other compliance-related policies.
Maintain confidentiality with regard to non-public information about members, employees, and the Credit Union.
Handle member information responsibly and confidentially.
Follow all security policies and procedures at all times.
