About The Position

The position is responsible for originating Consumer Loan applications via phone with an emphasis on capturing additional loan opportunities that create mutual benefit. Essential Job Functions Responsible for managing all loan by phone questions with a heightened focus on service to members. Maintains in depth knowledge of all consumer loan options including but not limited to: personal, share secured, auto, boat, recreational vehicles, business visa’s, and equity loans Obtains and analyzes credit reports to determine member’s debt to income ratio and creditworthiness. Originates equity loans and identify and refer 1st Mortgage business opportunities. Processes and funds applications on applicable loan types, including but not limited to personal loans and shared secured loans. Creates an exceptional handoff to a consumer loan officer for further processing of an approved application. Acts as a relationship manager between Consumer Underwriting, Consumer Lending Servicing, Retail Branches and Equity Servicing team. Performs all necessary queue management tasks throughout the day. Completes service calls and/or other outbound efforts. Performs all necessary follow-up communications with new or existing members electronically or by phone, to secure a mutually beneficial relationship. Fosters strong relationships and help with the following: Identifies additional opportunities to strengthen member relationships. Business Partner Referrals. Outbound Sales on targeted member opportunities. Demonstrates habits and behaviors consistent with brand guidelines, aimed at becoming the members’ lender of choice. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One (1) year experience in a financial institution with consumer lending experience.
  • Knowledge of computers and standard Windows software applications.
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute.
  • Ability to perform 10-key accurately.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and use proper grammar in English.
  • Must register as an MLO.
  • Ability to communicate in person, on the telephone, and through written business correspondence.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze written reports, instructions, correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively to members regarding sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, decimals, and common fractions.
  • Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to make decisions based on training, common sense understanding, and guidelines.
  • Must register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and comply with the S.A.F.E. Act.
  • Submit fingerprints for an FBI criminal background check and receive clearance.
  • Maintain MLO registration on an annual basis and update any changes to registration information as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and non-disclosure of member information.

Nice To Haves

  • Six (6) months call center experience.
  • One (1) year experience as a Personal Banker at Arizona Federal.
