About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide professional, knowledgeable and courteous service to internal employees, members and third-party vendors. This position is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing a variety of account and loan applications, prepare closing documents and field lending inquiries for both Consumer and Business lending.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent plus 1-3 years’ work experience or related business degree.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates proficient computer skills with a high level of computer literacy
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Ability to perform well and keep up responsibilities in a high volume, fast paced working environment.
  • Positive and professional attitude, appearance and reliability
  • Ability to work Saturdays

Responsibilities

  • Build long term relationships with members utilizing Member Value culture and adhere to the credit union’s Universal Behaviors Policy.
  • Required to have a comprehensive understanding of all credit union products and services. With this knowledge, the Consumer Lending Specialist will provide consultative services to members by evaluating needs, addressing concerns and providing solutions to achieve expected outcome.
  • Serve as subject matter expert regarding consumer loans. Counsel Member Services with respect to loan documentation, application and funding questions.
  • Collaborate closely with underwriters and loan officers to facilitate a seamless loan origination process.
  • Communicate to members and third-party vendors by phone, email, text and virtual to collect necessary documentation to ensure account/loan accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain a high standard of data accuracy and integrity in all loan-related processes.
  • Prepare loan or account documents within operating system for signature. Utilize esign for signature or coordinate with branch for signing.
  • Perform quality control review both pre and post-closing and facilitate loan creation.
  • Disburse loan proceeds to members and handle all direct payments for loan payoffs via Fedex or postal service. Verify that all necessary documentation is included for proper payoff and credit union lien perfection.
  • Validate all documentation to ensure strict adherence to Know Your Customer and Customer Identification Program policies and procedures.
  • Assist with internal, external, and NCUA audits as assigned
  • Assist with loan research for discrepancy, file maintenance, and documentation retention/destruction protocol.
  • Required to attend or participate in necessary compliance training, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy, OFAC, and Privacy.
  • Required to attend training sessions as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
