About The Position

As a Consumer Lending Analyst, you will be responsible for consumer loan funding, document preparation, loan closing, booking, and post-closing title follow-up. You will also review and underwrite consumer loan applications within your assigned authority and established lending guidelines. This role requires you to exercise sound judgment, maintain strong attention to detail, and consistently comply with the Bank’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of front line or operational banking experience is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to review credit, income, debt, collateral, and loan-to-value information.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Judgment to make decisions and ability to document decisions within assigned authority and to recognize when escalation is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and applicable lending systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities across multiple lending functions.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree will also be considered.
  • Consumer lending experience, including experience with loan funding or underwriting, preferred.
  • Knowledge of consumer credit, loan documentation, lending regulations, underwriting guidelines, and title and lien requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review consumer loan documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with bank and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete loan closings and book funded loans accurately into the bank’s operating systems.
  • Perform post-closing title and lien follow-up, document collection efforts, and escalate unresolved issues when necessary.
  • Review consumer loan applications and supporting documentation for creditworthiness and compliance with underwriting guidelines.
  • Analyze credit reports, income, debt obligations, collateral, and loan-to-value.
  • Approve, decline, or recommend loan requests within assigned authority and escalate exceptions to the appropriate approval level.
  • Document underwriting decisions, conditions, exceptions, and required stipulations.
  • Communicate loan decisions and documentation requirements to dealers, customers, and internal partners.
  • Provide professional service and maintain positive relationships with dealers, customers, and coworkers.
  • Follow established controls and maintain appropriate separation of duties across underwriting, funding, booking, and post-closing activities.
  • Assist with workload balancing across funding, title follow-up, and underwriting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
