About The Position

The Consumer Field Collector notifies or locates customers with delinquent accounts and attempts to secure payment, obtain loss mitigation (workout) agreement or secure the asset via Self-Help, Voluntary Repossession or Deposit. Requirements

• Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field
• One year of relevant experience
• Driving license and car in good conditions is required
• Customer service: Manages difficult or emotional customer situations and responds promptly to customer needs
• Team Work: Contributes to building a positive team spirit
• Ethics: Treats people with respect and upholds organizational values
• Quality: Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and looks for ways to improve and promote quality
• Computer literate (Word, Excel)
• Good verbal and written communication in both English and Spanish

Responsibilities

• Contacts delinquent account customers in person or sets up a contact visit by telephone.
• Obtains the reason for arrears, records information about critical demographics, financial status of customer, status of collection efforts and follow-up.
• Performs repossession or recommends the placement of the account to an agency/attorney.
• Receives payments and posts amount paid to customer account.
• Skip traces customer to new address by inquiring at post office, questioning references/neighbors or via any leads that may come up via the credit bureaus or other creditors.
• Attempts to repossess asset/merchandise when customer fails to make payment.
• Any additional task assigned by supervisor
