About The Position

Responsible for assisting the Regional Manager with the day-to-day sales and operations of assigned branches within the Region. This includes managing and operating the branch in an effective and profitable manner, promoting bank products and services, and providing quality customer service and satisfaction in accordance with the bank's policies, procedures, and philosophy. Performs lending activities.

Requirements

  • Requires a four-year degree or equivalent.
  • Ten plus years of general business experience required.
  • Five to ten years of specialized experience in sales management required.
  • Successful completion of the retail training program required.
  • Completed NMLS requirements as part of the S.A.F.E. Act certification.
  • Proof of registration with the registry and verification of a unique identifier as established under the guidelines of the S.A.F.E. Act is required upon hire and/or must be obtained prior to performing the duties of a Mortgage Loan Originator.
  • This registration must be maintained annually in accordance with the S.A.F.E. Act.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the branch.
  • Develops a strong sales and quality service culture throughout the branch by acting as a coach and team leader.
  • Communicates expectations, goals, and objectives to branch personnel.
  • Reviews and recommends improved operating policies and procedures and ensures their proper implementation.
  • Makes recommendations for branch personnel regarding employment, performance ratings, salary changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Guides and advises personnel in complex phases of their work, including personal development and career planning.
  • Manages the branch lending activities in consumer & Small Business lending, including interviewing loan customers, preparing and processing applications and documentation, and preparing loan tracking reports.
  • Acts as "first-line" human resource administrator, completing leadership classes, employee performance reviews, and coordinating with Regional Management and Human Resources on branch staffing needs.
  • Ensures staff development and handles succession planning and other personnel issues.
  • Leads weekly branch sales meetings, provides positive feedback, and reviews branch sales goals.
  • Oversees dashboard and pipeline management.
  • Manages branch profitability by paying attention to staffing/ES expenses, loan growth, deposit growth, fee income, efficiency ratios, and budget items.
  • Manages business relationships within the community.
  • Handles certain branch audit responsibilities in operations, compliance, and security.
  • Directs delivery of services to the customer and attends to customers with special needs.
  • Uses CARE skills, product knowledge, and policy knowledge to suggest additional bank services and refer customers to other Lines of Business.
  • Utilizes Tableau for proactive outbound call list generation.
  • Works with platform sales team as a coach and support for their outbound calling efforts.
  • Coaches/Observes platform sales team on the S&T Sales process and conversations, documentation, and usage of sales tools.
  • Ensures branch operational excellence with ongoing communication with branch personnel regarding training, bank policies, product knowledge, and customer service responsibilities.
  • Ensures that standards of professionalism are met by branch personnel.
  • Represents the bank in civic and community functions to enhance image and develop business.
  • Interacts with line of business partners to expand existing customer relationships and develop new contacts.
  • Keeps informed of current developments, trends, and federal and state regulations related to branch operations.
  • Maintains prescribed security controls to protect the branch.
  • Ensures that branch facilities are in good operational repair and recommends capital improvements.
  • Works with Regional Manager to establish strategies for goal attainment for the region.
  • Assists in coaching branch teams assigned by Regional Manager.
  • Develops strategies with assigned teams to achieve goals.
  • Meets with Regional Manager weekly to discuss progress of quarterly assigned team.
  • Serves as part of the Business Development team assisting Community Banking Managers with outside Business Development calling.
  • Serves as the team contact for systems-related questions to support other branch manager team members.
  • Assists regional manager with monthly manager meetings, weekly team calls, and market branch meetings.
  • Attends meetings and conference calls in the absence of the Regional Manager.
  • Handles staff issues and customer complaints with immediate team assignment and in the absence of the Regional Manager.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with bank employees in other departments.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Completes NMLS requirements as part of the S.A.F.E. Act certification.
  • Assumes additional duties as required.
