About The Position

NaphCare Alabama Prisons LLC is hiring a Consultant Pharmacy Manager for the AL Department of Corrections. The Pharmacist provides clinical review and appropriate multi-disciplinary communication relative to the review of patient information. The individual in this position is also responsible for reviewing and documenting the accuracy of prescription drugs that have been re-packaged in the pharmacy. The Pharmacist is accountable for executing quality assurance checks of prescriptions filled by technicians or other pharmacists to ensure and document that prescriptions are filled correctly. The pharmacist shall advise NaphCare on AL pharmacy regulatory matters relative to the facility. Additionally, the consultant shall serve as NaphCare’s authorized agent with the AL Board of Pharmacy.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy
  • Must be licensed in the state of South Dakota with an active, unrestricted license
  • Must have working knowledge of concepts of pharmacy computer systems

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical review and appropriate multi-disciplinary communication relative to the review of patient information.
  • Reviewing and documenting the accuracy of prescription drugs that have been re-packaged in the pharmacy.
  • Executing quality assurance checks of prescriptions filled by technicians or other pharmacists to ensure and document that prescriptions are filled correctly.
  • Advise NaphCare on AL pharmacy regulatory matters relative to the facility.
  • Serve as NaphCare’s authorized agent with the AL Board of Pharmacy.
  • Performs quality assurance check on new orders to ensure correctness.
  • Communicates with providers to ensure clarity, accuracy and documentation of new or questionable orders.
  • Completes work activities to meet or exceed customer expectations in a timely manner.
