Consulting Internship: Business Systems Analyst (Summer 2027)
About The Position
CapTech is seeking undergraduate Juniors passionate about technology and solving complex business and technical problems to join their internship program, Elevate. This 10-week program provides meaningful immersion into the full life cycle of a typical IT consulting project, simulating a client engagement. Interns will work in self-led teams, be paired with full-time consultants for guidance and mentorship, and participate in weekly lunch-and-learns with the leadership team. The program aims to build impactful value and provide a full understanding of the consulting experience. Vault.com has consistently ranked Elevate among the Best Consulting Internships nationwide.
Requirements
- Current undergraduates with expected graduation dates in December 2027 - May 2028 who will be seeking full-time work after graduation
- Demonstrated an ability to be self-motivated contributors in a team environment
- Prior long-term school project or internship experience working in a team to create a deliverable
- Availability to work in-person 40 hours/week for 10 weeks in Richmond, VA from June 1 through August 6, 2027
- Candidates must have the ability to work at CapTech’s Richmond, VA office.
- Applicants must be authorized to work directly for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum and Software Development Life Cycle helpful
- Experience with SQL and/or Python preferred
- Exposure to consulting and/or client stakeholder-facing work from prior experiences is a plus
- All majors welcome to apply; Analytics, Computer Science, BIT, Systems Engineering majors preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Act as Scrum Master/Product Owner for development team
- Work with client stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather and document requirements
- Analyze the current state and help design the future state
- Help set project cadence and lead team ceremonies
- Lead stakeholder reviews and client presentations
