Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 7+ years direct experience in Safety Product Evaluation and/or working in an OEM capacity
  • Experience with international product safety standards (i.e.: ANSI, CSA, UL, EN, IEC)
  • Experience and skills including knowledge of UL/IEC 62368-1, 60335, 61010
  • Global market access and international certification experience
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross functional technical and business discussions with both internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrated abilities to be adaptable, a quick learner and possess the skills that would enable the working understanding of new standards; and apply experience to be able to be presented to the client/project on an expert level
  • Ability to travel up to 5%
  • A valid driver's license and reliable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in working in a Global regulatory and product development engineering capacity (OEM/Manufacture and/or NRTL)
  • Experience working in the appliance (commercial, residential, fixed & portable), electronics, ICT, Lighting, and HVAC/HVACR industries in product regulatory and/or product development capacities
  • Experience and skills including knowledge of International standards
  • Knowledge and experience in industries such as Consumer Electronics, HVAC/HVAC-R, Food Equipment, Lighting, Transportation Technology, Laser Technology, Robotics and Energy Storage

Responsibilities

  • Drive various GMA client programs and certifications end to end, concept to launch.
  • Support global radio compliance requirements for the GMA consulting team.
  • Support holistic programs utilizing US Labs and Global Market Access processes and procedures.
  • Create partnerships with various Intertek labs and third-party labs to execute assurance-led testing.
  • Understand and provide customers with Safety, RF and EMC Support for certification submission requirements.
  • Work with a client’s teams and regional organizations to ensure products meet wireless regulatory requirements and certifications.
  • Conduct thorough design review, risk mitigation services, root cause analysis, document results. Including but not limited to: Research, read and determine applicability of international codes and standards.
  • Validate the project scope and sample applicability.
  • Under scope of the project, identify required testing and develop test plans.
  • Conduct thorough design review, document results.
  • Coordinate and lead client meetings/discussions.
  • Work closely with customers to gain an understanding of needs.
  • Supply information for quotes such as length of project, scope, resources and samples required, and standards that will be used.
  • Provide sales support for any and all product requirements including direct customer presentations.
  • Identify project needs and sample deliveries for effective resource planning and meeting of client’s expectations.
  • Perform technical assessments and analysis of specifications of projects and implement necessary solutions.
  • Provide more specialized "expertise" in various product categories, i.e., become subject matter expert, or obtain and maintain advanced product knowledge for emerging GMA market categories.
  • Management of subcontracted work.
  • Communicate project status and test results to client, sales personnel, and management throughout project. Provide on-going support to clients as needed.
  • Play a variety of roles depending on projects, such as a technical and scientific reference or organizing and managing tasks.
  • Delegate tasks to other team members to make sure the project is completed on a timely basis.
  • Provide support during the duration of projects to ensure the needs of the organization are met.
  • Attend technical trade or association meetings.
  • Perform other work as required.
