About The Position

They help organizations unlock growth and operational excellence. The company is looking for a Consulting Controller to join their high-caliber team of advisors. This role offers the opportunity to partner with leaders across diverse industries, solve complex challenges, and design impactful people strategies. The role involves developing innovative strategies to improve revenue and profitability, solving problems for various companies and industries, networking with executives, developing new business opportunities, managing multiple client engagements, seizing initiative to develop new business with existing clients, communicating with and educating clients, leading small teams, lifelong learning, collaborating with experienced peers, and engaging with local nonprofit and community organizations. Requirements

  • BBA in Accounting or Finance required
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience
  • Ability to lead and effectively manage Assistant Controllers and junior level accounting professionals
  • Leadership in the development of financial policies and procedures
  • In depth experience with accounting software packages including QuickBooks, NetSuite, Intacct, or other mid-market accounting packages
  • Employ an entrepreneurial spirit and harness our training and coaching to expand business networks and find leads for new client work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage accounting staff in a team environment

  • MBA or CPA a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work with vcfo team members and partner with leadership teams at companies based in and around Houston
  • Engage with the client’s team, adapting to a variety of client environments and industries
  • Generation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements
  • Manage full accounting cycle
  • Creation and maintenance of corporate forecasts
  • Experience managing other accounting staff and/or working in a team environment
  • Work on multiple, significantly varied client engagements at one time
  • Assisting in the financial preparation of Board packages
  • Development of financial policies and procedures
  • Providing guidance and leadership in the enhanced use of ERP systems, conversions, and/or the selection of future software as required to support financial operations
