About The Position

Community Howard Regional Health is seeking Consultation Nurses (Code Blue/Rapid Response RNs) to enhance patient safety and critical care response capabilities. This role involves an expert team of critical care nurses providing immediate intervention during critical patient events under standardized protocols. The initiative aims to deliver rapid, expert assessments and care when every second counts, aligning with the mission of providing exceptional care.

Requirements

Graduate of an NLN, CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA accredited school of nursing, or three years of related professional nursing experience.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana.
Minimum of 1 year of critical care experience required.
ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certified.
Experience with CRRT, IABP, ICP management required.
Demonstration of performance consistent with professional standards of practice, care, the Nurse Practice Act and the mission and goals of Community Health Network.
Demonstration of skills in collaboration, delegation, negotiation and management of resources.
Excellent communication skills.

Self-directed.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
3+ years of critical care experience strongly preferred.
2+ years of precepting experience preferred.
CCRN certification or willing to obtain within 1 year of hire.
EPIC experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Responds to situations in the hospital where a patient is showing signs of clinical deterioration.
Monitors, evaluates, and rounds on all patients within the hospital.
Serves as an educational mentor and teaching resource for inexperienced nurses.
Works PRN in the ICU approximately two shifts per six-week schedule to maintain critical care nursing skills.
