About The Position

Our Energy Products practice is looking for an experienced Consultant to Senior Consultant to join the team. Our Energy Products and Power Market Advisory team combines energy market expertise, production cost modeling, data-led analysis, and commercial insight. We work with policymakers, regulators, investors, developers, lenders, and energy companies across the energy supply chain, helping clients understand power market fundamentals, assess system evolution, evaluate investment decisions, and shape change in energy markets.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in power market modeling, production cost modeling, power systems, energy analytics, consulting, or industry
  • Strong knowledge of wholesale power markets and power system fundamentals, including generation economics, transmission, dispatch, congestion, renewables integration, and market design.
  • Hands-on experience with production cost modeling tools such as PLEXOS, PROMOD, AURORA, GridView, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, Excel, and large-scale data analysis, with a focus on reproducible and auditable workflows.
  • Ability to troubleshoot models, challenge assumptions, interpret results, and identify key drivers of market outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical findings and market insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience leading analytical investigations, QA/QC reviews, documentation efforts, and serving as a trusted technical resource.
  • Experience modeling North American power markets (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP, NYISO, CAISO, etc.) and working with key market inputs and datasets.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automation, AI, advanced analytics, scenario development, capacity expansion, transmission studies, market outlooks, or creating tools that improve modeling efficiency and insight generation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain North American power market outlooks, delivering data-driven insights for developers, investors, utilities, lenders, and other energy market participants.
  • Lead power market modeling workstreams, including scenario design, model configuration, input assumptions, production cost modeling, results analysis, and quality assurance.
  • Partner with Energy Products and Market Advisory leadership to define analytical approaches, scope studies, and translate client needs into actionable workplans.
  • Build, enhance, and maintain modeling datasets, workflows, diagnostics, and automation processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Analyze market fundamentals, infrastructure developments, and policy impacts to assess implications for power markets and investment decisions.
  • Convert complex modeling outputs into clear, client-ready presentations, reports, and recommendations for both technical and executive audiences.
  • Present key findings, sensitivities, risks, and commercial implications to clients, senior stakeholders, and internal leadership teams.
  • Contribute to global Energy Products offerings, including market outlooks, SaaS solutions, analytical tools, and thought leadership initiatives.
