About The Position

This role supports both Run (incident management, production stability) and Build (enhancements tied to business strategy) work across Insurance, Reinsurance, and Claims technology platforms. The team supports the LTE Claims, URS, Docuware by TA applications. This role requires strong analytical skills, insurance domain knowledge, SQL capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The analyst plays a critical role in incident triage, business-facing communication, and solution delivery. This is a hybrid role requiring two days work from office in Columbus, OH, Des Moines, Iowa, or Scottsdale, AZ, specifically on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The team supports a business in the Central Time zone, so flexing hours to support that as much as possible is preferred. As a Technology Analyst, you will partner with the business to understand business needs and outcomes, and provide all types of analysis skills related to understanding and meeting business outcomes. You will translate business outcomes into solution requirements using techniques such as facilitation and visual management. A Technology Analyst should have broad technology and analysis experience including: facilitation with large stakeholder groups, managing the complete requirements lifecycle, conducting structured analysis using both quantitative and qualitative techniques, analyzing data and application suites, and problem-solving using a collaborative style. Technology Analysts are engaged in work efforts at all scales ranging from minor defect fixes and enhancements to development of new applications. You will also work on all types of solution approaches (e.g. custom development, package implementation) and domains (e.g. all application types, data warehouses, Web, and Cloud).

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience as a Technology Analyst, Business Analyst, or Systems Analyst.
  • Strong experience working in Insurance, Reinsurance, and/or Claims technology environments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing and interpreting SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
  • Strong expertise in Jira, including creating, managing, and tracking requirements (user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional documentation).
  • Experience supporting both Run (incident management, production support) and Build (enhancement/project) work.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across business and technical teams.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, be a strong team player, and show high engagement and ownership.
  • Eight years of relevant work experience including software delivery or educational experience within a technology domain.
  • Experience with delivering Technology and/or business solutions across industries, platforms and/or lines of business (LOB) within the insurance and/or financial services industries.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing the requirements lifecycle, including facilitation, elicitation, and documenting requirements.
  • Master analytical and communication skills, knowledge of planning.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and set priorities needed.
  • Ability to facilitate requirement sessions using visual techniques with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incident triage, analyzing the issue, scoping impact, and identifying potential root causes.
  • Assist in incident prioritization, balancing urgency, business impact, and severity.
  • Partner with IT Operations, SMEs, vendor teams, and business users to drive timely resolution.
  • Track recurring issues and contribute to long‑term remediation and stability improvements.
  • Document incident outcomes, patterns, and system behavior for knowledge management.
  • Support enhancement and modernization work aligned with annual business strategy and priorities.
  • Work with business partners to translate requirements into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in solution design discussions and impact analysis sessions.
  • Support testing cycles including creating test cases, executing tests, and validating results.
  • Assist in user readiness, training, and deployment support.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements across Reinsurance and Claims.
  • Perform data flow, process flow, and workflow analysis to support solution delivery.
  • Recommend system and process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Act as a subject-matter resource for platform behaviors and data relationships.
  • Provide domain leadership across Reinsurance and Claims processes, data structures, and operational workflows.
  • Ensure configuration and enhancements align with business rules, audit needs, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support audits, reconciliations, and business reporting initiatives.
  • Write basic-to-intermediate SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
  • Conduct data quality checks, identify data integrity issues, and support reconciliation efforts.
  • Provide insights from data to support both operational and strategic decisions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, standups, backlog refinement, retrospectives).
  • Support defect management, documentation, and follow‑through to resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with business and technical teams throughout the delivery cycle.
  • Partner with the business to understand business needs and outcomes.
  • Translate business outcomes into solution requirements.
  • Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Manage complex requirements and ensure business alignment using facilitation and visual management techniques.
  • Lead and/or execute the preparation of detailed documentation and clarify moderate to complex work products requirements.
  • Provide complex analysis related to understanding and meeting business outcomes.
  • Verify, trace, and manage functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the applications used to support the business in a specific Business Solution Area(s) (BSA).
  • Conduct quality improvements by providing complex analysis of relevant data.
  • Drive the complete requirements lifecycle from idea through implementation.
  • Lead requirement sessions with business leaders and other technology professionals using visual facilitation techniques.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
