About The Position

CIBC's Infrastructure Operations & Networks team delivers technology stability in support of the client and employee experience by flawless operation of applications and infrastructure supported by enterprise processes. As the Consultant with the Application Operations – Application Engineering and Shared Services (AO-AESS) team, you will partner with professionals to ensure high-quality systems delivery and stability of AESS applications, specifically, ECIF (Enterprise Customer Information Facility). You will support Technology Operations' DevOps initiatives and streamline deployment activities through automation. The role coordinates and executes project plans using control procedures to implement application and maintenance updates. In addition, the role monitors and analyzes supported services and deployment methodologies to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the production applications and day-to-day operational activities, manage escalations and modify established procedures / approaches to suit specific situations including 24 x 7 support and coordination of recovery efforts. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

Requirements

  • At least 3-4 years of experience in UNIX/Linux/Solaris/Windows
  • Experience with JBOSS
  • Experience with DevOps Methodology & Tools (Jenkins, UCV, Azure Devops & iDeploy)
  • Experience with Cloud Technology/Azure
  • Experience with Containers: Caas, Openshift
  • Experience with Feedhub – (Axway) – Managed File Transfer
  • Experience with DataBricks/DataFactory
  • Experience with Github Actions are strong assets.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure stability of our application and infrastructure technology for our clients.
  • Identify and resolve medium to highly complex production problems for support of applications.
  • Collaboratively work to identify root cause and define actions to eliminate recurrence.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical (Connectivity, Software, Application or Operational) problems.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and play a key role in CIBC’s digital transformation by supporting DevOps and Agile initiatives.
  • Proactively monitor and analyze supported services to identify opportunities for improvement and use automation to streamline execution.
  • Coordinate and/or execute implementation plans for new medium to complex application and maintenance updates.
  • Enable others through regular knowledge sharing and engagement on projects and application support.
  • Maintaining the production applications and day-to-day operational activities.
  • Manage escalations and modify established procedures / approaches to suit specific situations including 24 x 7 support and coordination of recovery efforts.
