About The Position

ERM is seeking an experienced Industrial Hygiene (EHS) Consultant to join their dedicated team in the San Fran Bay Area. This role involves partnering with innovative companies across various sectors to address complex EHS and sustainability challenges. The consultant will act as a trusted advisor, providing onsite support, conducting risk assessments, developing EHS programs, and investigating incidents to ensure clients operate safely and sustainably. The position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by helping organizations navigate regulatory landscapes and implement best-in-class safety programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related science degree.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience, ideally within technology, biotech, manufacturing, or energy sectors.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills—clear, concise, and client-focused.
  • Willingness to travel to and be at client site(s) for up to 40 hours/week primarily within the Northern California San Fran Bay Area, California.
  • Valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Fortune 500 clients, providing onsite support and strategic guidance.
  • Conduct safety risk assessments, inspections, and observations to ensure compliance and protect personnel.
  • Help develop and implement innovative EHS programs in areas such as Hazard Communication, Injury Illness Prevention, Chemical Management, and Process Safety.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.
  • Build strong client relationships and deliver high-quality solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Perform building hazardous materials inspections, oversight, and sampling.
  • Support construction safety, industrial hygiene, and behavior-based safety initiatives.
  • Conduct audits, risk assessments, and industrial hygiene evaluations.
  • Collect and analyze field data; prepare technical reports and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement EHS programs and strategies.
  • Ensure quality standards and regulatory compliance across all deliverables.
