About The Position

This role is for a safety and compliance professional who thrives in a complex global regulatory environment. The position involves staying updated with ever-changing regulations and innovative products, acting as a subject matter expert, and justifying findings to various stakeholders. The role offers a blend of autonomy and collaboration within ad-hoc cross-functional teams, with opportunities for international exposure, growth in expertise, and direct impact on customer experience. The primary mission of the team is to ensure Steelcase products comply with global regulations and laws, prioritizing customer safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, BSEE preferred, or demonstrated equivalent technical acumen
• 3+ years of experience
• Proficiency/experience in product safety and compliance
• Global regulatory knowledge and cross-cultural experience
• Familiarity with standards organizations (e.g. BIFMA, UL, EN, etc.) and associated safety and performance standards
• Familiarity with electrical compliance (e.g. NEC, CE, EMC, MEPS, CEC, etc.)
• Strong communication skills in mixed media with technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Ensure Steelcase products comply with global regulations and laws.
• Ensure products are safe for customers.
• Investigate and coordinate product safety and compliance matters.
• Justify findings and positions to colleagues, management, and external authorities.
