About The Position

As a Consultant within BDO Canada's growing Finance Effectiveness & Transformation practice, you will have the unique opportunity to join at the ground level of an exciting and evolving team. As an integrator of corporate governance, process transformation, performance management, technology implementation, and business strategy, you will work directly with finance executives to optimize shareholder value and transform the finance function. Requirements

  • Completed undergraduate degree with outstanding academic credentials.
  • 1-4 years of relevant work experience in finance or consulting.
  • Deep expertise in financial management disciplines, such as financial process design, budgeting and planning, financial reporting, financial performance management, analytics and data modelling, and business case development.
  • Experience with, or interest in, acquiring knowledge of systems and technologies that support the finance function, such as Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365, SAP, Oracle, Blackline, Workiva, etc.
  • Strong commitment to professional client service excellence.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions.
  • Proven analytical skills and systematic problem solving.
  • Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Canadian travel required; occasional international travel. Candidates must be able to enter the USA to work on client assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • An accounting designation (CPA) or relevant master’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with project teams to gather information, analyze client challenges, and support stakeholder interviews.
  • Assist in developing analyses, recommendations, and client-ready presentations.
  • Contribute to the delivery of client engagements across a variety of projects, including finance process improvement, system implementation, and operating model design.
  • Conduct research, perform analysis, and help identify opportunities to address client issues and improve business processes.
  • Support project teams by tracking activities, preparing status updates, and assisting with workplan execution.
