About The Position

As a Consultant, Employee Benefits with HUB International Ontario, you will be responsible for originating new sales opportunities within the small to middle-market sector. This role involves building security, trust, and opportunity from the initial client interaction, seeking out potential clients, and establishing lasting partnerships. It is a revenue-driving position where your actions directly shape client futures.

Requirements

  • Valid LLQP License Required.
  • 3+ years of directly related EB&R industry sales experience.
  • A deep understanding of the Canadian insurance landscape, especially knowledge of Employee Benefits & Retirement industry trends, carrier products/services, and market trends.
  • Proven experience in new business origination, paired with a strategic mindset that sees beyond the immediate sale.
  • A natural aptitude for forging and nurturing long-lasting relationships with clients, prospects, and industry partners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team, valuing and contributing to shared successes.
  • Eagerness to stay updated on the ever-evolving insurance products, market trends, and regulatory changes.
  • Proficiency in articulating complex EB&R concepts in a clear and compelling manner to varied audiences.
  • Capacity to analyze sales data, spot trends, and pivot strategies accordingly.
  • A firm commitment to uphold the highest levels of professional ethics, ensuring compliance and trust in every interaction.
  • Resilience and flexibility in the face of industry shifts or challenges, always prepared to seize new opportunities.

  • Holding or working towards relevant EB designation an asset (i.e., CEBS, GBA, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure new sales opportunities for the Employee Benefits and Retirement “EB&R” division.
  • Spearhead initiatives targeting firms of all sizes, understanding their unique benefit needs by differing demographic metrics.
  • Stay updated on the nuances of EB&R products, ensuring you offer the most relevant solutions to every client.
  • Collaborate with the Property & Casualty teams, achieving mutual cross-selling goals.
  • Engage with senior management in goal-setting, ensuring alignment with the HUB’s broader ambitions.
  • Regularly review and refine your approach, tapping into team insights for continuous growth.
  • Prioritize and nurture relationships, whether they're new prospects, loyal clients, or industry contacts.
  • Always uphold compliance standards, setting a high bar for responsible origination.
  • Stay in sync with regional leaders, ensuring a unified approach to new business acquisition.
