About The Position

The Enterprise Strategic Services team exists to define and facilitate the strategic planning process; develop, articulate, and adapt the company’s strategic plan; and support critical strategic initiatives in their formation of recommendations and implementation plans, working closely with leaders and subject matter experts from across the business. We support this work with competitive intelligence and market trends insights and track our progress to inform and facilitate ongoing prioritization of efforts across the organization. The Consultant contributes to a market-leading Competitive Intelligence function in service of delivering market insights. Reporting to the Senior Director of Competitive Intelligence, the Consultant regularly develops competitive analyses to keep internal business partners informed. By conducting comprehensive secondary research, supplemented by select primary research and generative AI capabilities, the role delivers recurring and ad-hoc reports that help key stakeholders navigate the competitive dynamics across every key market and segment in which Blue Cross participates. This position is eligible for the Flex persona.

Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of the health care industry and health plan business required.
  • Strong qualitative, quantitative, written, and oral communication skills with ability to develop and deliver presentations to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Strong organizational, project and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple projects and assignments.
  • Strong secondary research skills and data visualization skills (Tableau).
  • Demonstrated AI fluency a plus.
  • Results-oriented with a willingness to get the job done.
  • High degree of professionalism along with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently to advance work products.
  • BS/BA degree.
  • Minimum five years of relevant business experience, including demonstrated experience in consulting, research and analysis, or other relevant field.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Strategy and Innovation team and Senior Director to scope, plan, and execute assigned projects.
  • Execute competition research and analyses to support the objectives of assigned projects. The Consultant will conduct baseline data and information collection from a variety of sources. These include secondary research and select primary research, leveraging quantitative and qualitative analysis to develop various reports.
  • Organize information thematically and synthesize into clear communication documents that tell the story at the right level of detail and most compelling visualizations.
  • Facilitate meetings within a project engagement.
  • Present updates, findings, and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
