Consultant, Behavioral Health resides within Student Support Services and is made up of many programs and projects designed to assist educators and caring community members to improve student connection by supporting the safety and well-being of students. Our programs effectively address the emotional, social, behavioral, safety, and health needs of students through valuing the strength in connection, engagement, and support. The job of Consultant, Behavioral Health is done for the purpose/s of increasing and supporting access to behavioral health services and supports for students and families by facilitating regional cross-system coordination and to support school districts to develop and implement comprehensive suicide prevention, behavioral health supports for students, level 1 and level 2 threat assessment consultation regarding behavioral health, and district policies and procedure for emotional and behavioral health needs. PSESD is one of nine regional educational agencies serving school districts and state approved charter and private schools in Washington. Serving over 39% of Washington’s K-12 public school students, our agency provides critical services designed to ensure that our students are ready to enter school, achieve at high levels in the K-12 system, and succeed in postsecondary endeavors.
