Behavioral Health Consultant
About The Position
The Primary Care Health Home Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) provides supportive advocacy to patients and their families as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, helping overcome barriers to care progression. The BHC works closely with chronically ill patients to assist in managing behaviors that impact their health. In collaboration with providers, nurse care managers, case management, and other CoxHealth staff, the BHC supports a patient-centered approach to coordinating healthcare needs and wellness goals. The role calls for a team-oriented individual with strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or PsyD.
- Active LCSW licensure, LPC, or Missouri State Licensed Psychologist certification/registration.
- Excellent telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize, with strong organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Computer experience required.
- Team-oriented approach with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience with electronic health records or prior work with a family practice medical office.
