About The Position

As a Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist at an Allina Hospital, you will provide psychiatric care for individuals experiencing complex mental health care needs during their medical admission. Your team is closely aligned with the Mental Health & Addiction Service Line across the Allina Health system. This position is on site at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, part of Allina Health and will provide telehealth coverage across additional Allina health hospital campuses.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine
  • Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in Psychiatry or foreign equivalency training
  • Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required
  • psychiatric board certification within 2 years of hire upon hire
  • ACLS-BLS Tier 3 - Multisource required upon hire
  • Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate required upon hire
  • Prescription Monitoring Program required upon hire
  • National Provider Identifier required upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of consult liaison fellowship strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
  • Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
  • Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
  • Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.
  • Charts in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope.
  • Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
  • May participate in on-call rotation.
  • Provides psychiatric services to a diverse patient population.
  • Develops behaviorally-focused, outcomes-based treatment plans of care that address mental health, functional impairment, and co-occurring addictive or medical disorders.
  • Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team.
  • Provides full Mental Health care planning including medication recommendation and prescriptions.
