Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of employment
- Possesses an active CPR certification
- Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice
- Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies to demonstrate aptitude as assigned by role
- Must have the ability to work independently, take initiative, and have good judgment and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Consult Coordinator/Grievance Nurse meets with inmates/patients regarding complaints of medical care and facilitating resolutions with the patient and medical team.
- Ability for tracking & trending data for presentation to a committee.
- Good organizational skills.
- The MAT LPN maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for patients receiving specialized care. This involves documenting medical histories, test results, treatment plans, and communication with external healthcare providers.
- The MAT LPN maintains detailed records to ensure continuity of care and compliance with medical protocols.
- MAT LPN collaborates with other members of the medical team, including registered nurses, physicians, and mental health professionals, to provide comprehensive healthcare services to inmates.
- Alongside clinical duties, The MAT LPN may have administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and coordinating with external healthcare providers.
- The MAT LPN acts as a liaison between the correctional facility's medical team and external healthcare providers. They communicate medical needs, coordinate information exchange, and ensure seamless collaboration for patients' medical care.
- Accurate documentation of all medical interactions, assessments, treatments, and interventions is essential.
- Medication Inventory Management
- Initial and ongoing SUD (substance use disorder) assessment and evaluation
- Patient Care Coordination
- Collaborate with community treatment providers and social support services
- Dispense MAT Medications
