Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of employment
  • Possesses an active CPR certification
  • Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice
  • Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies to demonstrate aptitude as assigned by role
  • Must have the ability to work independently, take initiative, and have good judgment and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Consult Coordinator/Grievance Nurse meets with inmates/patients regarding complaints of medical care and facilitating resolutions with the patient and medical team.
  • Ability for tracking & trending data for presentation to a committee.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • The MAT LPN maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for patients receiving specialized care. This involves documenting medical histories, test results, treatment plans, and communication with external healthcare providers.
  • The MAT LPN maintains detailed records to ensure continuity of care and compliance with medical protocols.
  • MAT LPN collaborates with other members of the medical team, including registered nurses, physicians, and mental health professionals, to provide comprehensive healthcare services to inmates.
  • Alongside clinical duties, The MAT LPN may have administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and coordinating with external healthcare providers.
  • The MAT LPN acts as a liaison between the correctional facility's medical team and external healthcare providers. They communicate medical needs, coordinate information exchange, and ensure seamless collaboration for patients' medical care.
  • Accurate documentation of all medical interactions, assessments, treatments, and interventions is essential.
  • Medication Inventory Management
  • Initial and ongoing SUD (substance use disorder) assessment and evaluation
  • Patient Care Coordination
  • Collaborate with community treatment providers and social support services
  • Dispense MAT Medications
