About The Position

South Kingstown School District is seeking a 0.5 FTE Construction Technology or Carpentry CTE teacher to support and grow its Construction Technology – Carpentry CTE Program. This is a part-time position with the hope of transitioning to full-time in the future. Requirements

Minimum of 5 years working in the area of expertise (construction/carpentry) is highly valued.
Industrial work experience in the field of general construction and/or carpentry.
Basic knowledge of all areas of construction.
Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree is preferred.
At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.

Knowledge of how to teach material to students, and a willingness to understand how curriculum, standards, grade level/span expectations, and performance assessments play a role in that.

Teach Construction Technology courses.

Demonstrate knowledge and experience with Technology integration, project-based and applied learning.

Have experience teaching, even if in a place of work.
Have experience in designing authentic learning experiences for students to learn core 21st Century skills.
Industrial work experience in the field of general construction and/or carpentry. Applicant must have a basic knowledge of all areas of construction.
