About The Position

Generally responsible for performing all aspects of construction management for moderately complex engineering assignments. This work will be performed under minimal supervision. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Extensive knowledge of construction safety requirements, with a commitment to a zero accidents environment. Ability to insure contractor’s activities are planned and executed with safety first. Familiarity with and utilizing department standards. Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a task. Technical contractual activities on one or more projects of various sizes. Promoting continued relationships with clients. Participating in field construction efforts, design phase services and all subcontracting as well as participating in all major technical, cost, scheduling and performance decisions. Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly. Providing on-site assistance during startup. Coordinating work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead. Consulting with design leaders to ensure the smooth flow of vital information necessary for the scheduled completion of the project. Advising the senior engineer concerning design or scope changes, which have been identified. Reviewing and checking vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for input. Reviewing construction specifications. Reviewing fabrication drawings and other construction submittals for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform work outdoors in hot or cold climates.
  • Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs, and hard hat.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is preferred.
