We provide full-service planning, design and construction management services on everything from roadways and bridges to airports, stormwater infrastructure, utilities infrastructure and parks/recreation projects primarily for state and local agencies and municipalities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management and at least 2-3 years of construction experience, OR worked in construction with solid field experience.
  • 3-4 years of field experience with civil construction work in Utilities.
  • Familiarity with IDOT procedures.
  • Current IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities certification.
  • Understanding of construction inspection practices.
  • Proficient with business and engineering applications such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • People person with the ability to interface and collaborate effectively with clients, employees, and the management team.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Civil construction experience for Utilities, such as: interpreting contract documents (specifications, reading drawings, etc), grading activities, concrete foundations (spread footings/drilled piers), building experience (concrete, structural steel, precast erection, roofing, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Assist on construction projects.
  • Provide inspection for various construction projects.
  • Assist with maintaining project documentation, including calculations, daily reports, project filing, etc.
  • Work under a Lead Engineer.
  • Perform work involving the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria under supervision.
  • Interface with clients, consultants, subconsultants, and vendors.
  • Build strong relationships and maintain a focus on superior client service.
